High School Leadership

Rural high schools are faced with declining budgets and populations. At the same time, the expectations from the state and federal government continue to increase. It is difficult to recruit teachers and professionals to your community, unless they have a connection. Schools and communities need to grow their own future educators and citizens. Many rural schools have young student organization sponsors who are experts in their subject, but may not have the time or expertise for strategic planning with their student group.

Andrew will come to your school to provide leadership training for your students. There are two different programs set up to develop your students leaders.

1. Two day strategic planning/leadership development program - Using the framework of The Leadership Challenge, Andrew will work with the students leaders in your organizations and clubs to develop their leadership skills while also helping the clubs do strategic planning to develop their yearly goals and activities.

2. Quarterly leadership program - Andrew comes to your school once a quarter for a day long leadership training. A select group of student leaders will increase their leadership and at the same time examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats your school and community faced. Based on this, your students will put their leadership skills to action by selecting and completing a community or school leadership program. Besides, improving the community, it will also help student leaders develop pride and engagement in their hometown.
